Eorfast son of Ulfang, Rider of the Mark
Eorfast's father Ulfang is of Dunlending blood but when he was young he joined Thengels Eoréd and quickly made a reputation for himself as a marvelous horseman and a fierce warrior. When Thengel became the king of Rohan he offered Ulfang the position as his personal courier and as an honoration of his faithful service he granted Ulfang his greatest wish. That wish was Eogund of Eorls house's hand in marriage. Their first son was Eorfast and he was offered into the service of Thengels son Théoden. In this way Eorfast, half of dunnish line and half of eorls, achieved the same position of courier that his father held before him. He now rides far and wide for his master king Theoden of Rohan.
