Gláin Óinsson

Gláin is the son of Óin the follower of Thorin II Oakenshield. Just like his father followed the venerable heir of Thrór and Thrain, Gláin follows the strong leader of clan Deepforge, Nardun. Gláin is an accomplished jewelsmith as are all of his 7 brothers, but as the richness of the dwarves are in decline he has set out as a merchant travelling the northern Eriador for profit. Often he will act as a protective escort for caravans travelling the dangerous routes across the mountains or through troll-country, but sometimes he will also make investments in his own goods to sell in Fornost or Rivendell. Gláin hopes one day to become so rich that he can settle down as a jeweller for it is his great passion which poverty is denying him. Gláin carries a deepfound hatred to those who have contributed to the fall and consequent poverty of the dwarves. Smaug and the icedragons, the orcs and the Enemy to name the worst, and when he wields his battle axe against such foes he is a truly fearsome opponent!
